And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived (Numbers 21:8,9). Unbelievable? Yes, if you don’t believe in the power of the Old Rugged Cross of Jesus. But if you do believe in that amazing Cross of Jesus, the Cross on a hill called Calvary where Jesus died almost two thousand years ago, then you know this serpent of brass represents our crucified, Saviour, (Jesus).

The Word of God teaches us to wait. Just because we are in motion, it doesn't mean we are in progress with the Lord, have we mounted up with wings as the eagle and soared into the greatness of God. Or do we move in own will, our own strength.
Not being able to find people who will work in perfect obedience has been a great hindrance to God, but in these day the bride of Jesus Christ has appeared on the scene from all directions, coming together in one mind, one accord, in perfect love and obedience. The Bride, wearing the love of our Jesus, is alert, looking for the return of Jesus, knowing for a fact Jesus is coming back. Living, walking, thinking with the Spirit of God, the true Bride is obeying and being taught by the Holy Spirit and being moved by Him to do Gods will on earth...

Troubles, toil and tribulation, we’re going to have some until we get to heaven. The Bible tells us that in this world ye shall have tribulation. That promise is ours whether we accept it or not, but we also have our God’s promise that will defeat those troubles and cares. Our God will not leave us defenceless. Why should we be terrified, not knowing whether or not our problems can be overcome? Listen to our Lord Jesus, and we can be victorious.

When Jesus came, He told the disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me (Matthew 16:24). Deny self, give self to me, Jesus was saying. Have we given ourselves over to denying self or have we held something in reserve. Do you have the vision of the soon coming of the Lord? Do you have the vision of the judgments about to fall on the earth? Do you have the vision of, go ye into all the world and preach this Gospel to every person?
In John chapter 17, Jesus is praying not only for His followers in that day, but also for us as well to be like Him. The disciples had been trying to be like Jesus, but they couldn’t become like Jesus by trying; we become like Jesus by trusting in the blood of Jesus, in His love, in His grace to help lead others to salvation, and to bless them.
This is Jesus talking to the father: I pray not that thou shouldest keep them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil (John 17:15). We can talk to the Father just like Jesus did because the Bible declares that we are sons and daughters of God.
